Temporary QA Technician - 3rd Shift

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the administration of Quality Assurance functions as they relate to raw material and finished product testing to achieve customer product specifications and to adhere to all SOP and SSOP as per the Kevin’s Natural Foods standards. The QC technicians follow through on set processes such as good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards.The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the administration of Quality Assurance functions as they relate to raw material and finished product testing to achieve customer product specifications and to adhere to all SOP and SSOP as per the Kevin’s Natural Foods standards. Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:00PM-6:30AM. Will be working at least every other weekend.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for monitoring, and programing critical control points (CCP), product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
  • Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and documentation.
  • Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
  • Work closely with production staff to maintain and education in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, GMP’s, and other food safety guidelines.
  • Responsible to issue disciplinary action when directed.
  • Collect product samples for product development, lab retains, and the laboratory when directed.
  • Perform inspections on products, equipment, and machinery.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by QA Management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a food processing environment.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a meat or poultry processing environment preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Microbiology or food science. (
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, allergens, and food defense
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Flexibility and ability to work mandatory overtime and weekends as needed.

Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller is responsible for compiling, maintaining, and reconciling financial records to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.

This is in a hybrid position in Stockton, CA. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Supervise the G/L Staff and Senior Accountants, while also developing them in their accounting knowledge and capability for growth.
  • Prepare and record journal entries as needed to support the team.
  • Review and post team members journal entries.
  • Assist with daily cash flow management.
  • Assist with the maintenance of assigned periodic general ledger reconciliations.
  • Review the G/L Accountants periodic general ledger reconciliations, with thorough analysis for completeness and accuracy, as well as appropriate support inclusion and compliance with best practices.
  • Monitor that all accounting policies and procedures are followed to ensure financial statements are in compliance with US GAAP accounting principles as well as parent company financial manuals.
  • Conduct analysis of periodic and aged activity in assigned accounts.
  • Maintain chart of accounts.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review periodically the departments SOPs and desk procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with implementation of new control requirements as assigned by the parent company.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial statements and other reporting required by our parent company.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statement commentary and detailed explanations of variance analysis.
  • Review required regulatory reporting and internal reports.
  • Prepare/Review third party PBC (“provided by client”) schedules for audits. Work with internal KNF teams to support the overall business as well as helping them manage their expenses on a periodic basis.
  • Prepare, review or approve AP payment requests as needed.
  • Prepare/Review support to provide to the appropriate parent company teams to file government compliance reports, CAT, use and excise tax filings.
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum 7 years’ accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Have a strong knowledge of GAAP basis accounting.
  • Advanced understanding of Excel formulas (i.e. V or X-Lookups, If statements, Pivot Tables); SAP a plus.
  • Prepare, review, and record a high number of journal entries.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Operations Finance Director

This is a hybrid role in Stockton, CA.

The Operations Finance Director will serve as the primary financial partner for our Operations organization. As a strategic financial advisor to the Operations leadership team, the Operations Finance Director will monitor the financial health of our supply chain, to include labor productivity, capital and expense budgets, external logistics expense, financial planning, and performance analysis while implementing strong financial controls and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position will also play a critical role in building out an operations finance team over the next several years, starting with oversight of a cost accountant and eventually expanding as the organization grows.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the primary financial liaison to Operations leadership, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Logistics.
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance for decision-making, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • In collaboration with Operations Leadership and the FP&A team, own operating expense planning and forecasting for all operations functions
  • Drive variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead) and root cause identification for performance improvements.
  • Lead preparation of financial insights for operations performance reviews, post-implementation/post-launch reviews, S&OP processes, annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts.
  • Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost-of-goods-sold reporting across all plants and warehouses.
  • Collaborate with Innovation team on new product profitability modelling and FP&A team on ongoing margin reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of inventory and production-related financials.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting leadership to maintain strong fiduciary controls and cash management practices
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with plant leaders, controller and accounting teams to uphold corporate accounting standards.
  • Directly manage a Cost Accountant and support their professional growth.
  • Develop and execute a roadmap for building an operations finance team aligned with company growth.
  • Other duties as assigned and necessary.


What You’ll Need:

  • 10-15 years of experience in Operations Finance, ideally within a food manufacturing environment with internal production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
  • Extensive previous exposure to cost accounting, plant financials, and supply chain operations
  • Proficient in ERP systems (ideally SAP)
  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting tools, and corporate performance management systems.
  • Advanced excel skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.

Director of FP&A

This is a remote role with travel to Stockton, CA 1-2x a quarter.

The Director of FP&A will serve as a strategic finance leader for Kevin’s Natural Foods, owning the company’s financial planning, forecasting, and analysis processes. This role partners directly with the CFO and executive leadership to provide insights that shape business strategy, drive efficiency, and ensure financial discipline. The Director will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, while also mentoring a growing FP&A team and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the company’s financial planning processes including hands on ownership of the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, long-range plans, and periodic latest estimates. Ensure assumptions are clear, data-driven, and aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting and insights that explain business performance, highlight risks and opportunities, and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team to evaluate business initiatives, investment opportunities, and key strategic decisions, providing scenario modeling and financial recommendations.
  • Oversee and enhance financial models to improve forecasting accuracy, business visibility, and strategic alignment.
  • Lead the FP&A team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide coaching and development opportunities to build organizational capability.
  • Ensure collaboration with Accounting,Operations Finance, and cross-functional partners to maintain accuracy in financial reporting, manage spending, and support operational decision-making.
  • Own the relationship with the Mars FP&A team, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, and effectively communicating business drivers, assumptions, and performance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against goals and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
  • Drive process improvement and standardization across financial planning and analysis to enhance efficiency, scalability, and transparency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while balancing investments in growth and innovation.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to department heads by offering financial insights and scenario planning.
  • Support the CFO with ad-hoc analysis and projects related to the FP&A function.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPA, CMA, or CFA) preferred.
  • 10-15 years of direct experience in FP&A, with a strong focus on budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prior experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) or food industry highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and GAAP.
  • Experience with SAP ERP system is highly preferred
  • Proven experience as a strategic thinker with the ability to connect financial outcomes with business objectives
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and advanced excel skills
  • Highly self-motivated and accountable workstyle, with internal sense of urgency, adesire for efficiency, and ability to execute hands on deliverables.
  • Onsite highly preferred; remote with frequent travel will be considered.
