For Chicken Sliders
Kevin’s Natural Foods Pulled Chicken
1/2 tbsp avocado oil
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground chili powder
1/4 tsp granulated garlic
1-2 tsp hot sauce
6 taco prepared shells, *See Paleo and Keto Tips
Taco Topping Suggestions:
2 cups shredded crisp lettuce or green cabbage
1/2 chopped red bell pepper
1/2 cup queso fresco or alternative crumble cheese substitute
1/2 cup cilantro leaves
1/4 cup chopped scallions
1/4 cup sliced radishes
1 avocado, sliced
1 jalapeño, sliced
1/2 cup green or red salsa
Prepare toppings. Chop, slice, and grate your favorite taco toppings. Check out our taco topping suggestions!
Shopping Tip: Buy packages of shredded or sliced veggies to cut down in preparation time!
Prepare taco shells as indicated on the package.
Paleo and Keto Tip: Pulled Chicken Tacos are delicious served in crisp lettuce leaves! Subsequently, our Keto friends choose to buy grain-free taco shells! To cheese or not to cheese, now that is totally up to you!
Prepare Kevin’s Pulled Chicken. Heat skillet over MEDIUM-HIGH for 1 minute with 1/2 tbsp preferred cooking oil. Add the entire content of the chicken pouch, break up any larger pieces with a spatula. Stir in the cumin, chili powder, garlic and hot sauce.
Cook chicken, without stirring, for 1 minute. Turn chicken over and cook, without stirring, for 30 seconds or until warm through. Turn burner off and allow chicken to simmer and thicken for 3 minutes in the skillet before filling tacos. Squeeze 1 tsp lime juice over warm chicken.
Microwave Method: The chicken can be prepared in the microwave for ease of clean up! Pour entire content of chicken pouch into a microwave safe bowl. Cover bowl, and microwave on high for 1 minute, or until hot.
To serve: Stuff each taco shell with shredded lettuce then top with Pulled Chicken and your favorite taco toppings. Yum!
